Education for environmental sustainability is a key part of learning within the Queensland Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Framework. Key learning areas that have a significant focus on environmental issues are Science, Studies of Society and the Environment (SOSE) and Technology; however, all KLAs can contribute to the goals of environmental education for sustainability.
The ways in which environmental sustainability is explored are diverse, and vary according to the context, student's ability and age, teacher's experience and confidence, and availability of resources. Some teachers use an inquiry model for learning, some scientific investigation, others use the creative arts and narrative approaches.
The following are some of the resources for education for environmental sustainability available through the Education Queensland Learning Place.
