Fuelling our futures is an inquiry-learning unit that supports students to develop an understanding of energy and sustainability. Students explore why we need to reduce our electricity consumption and how we can do that by working together and adopting a range of efficiency and conservation measures. Online and offline activities enable students to explore contemporary ideas and information related to electricity consumption as part of wider environmental issues.
Students also explore some of the ways scientific knowledge can help in making decisions about living more sustainably such as adopting energy efficiency measures and conserving energy resources.
The module is available for state schools through Education Queensland's Learning Place.
