The Year of Environmental Sustainability (YES) Principal Champion is Michael Zeuschner. Michael is the principal of Bulimba State School which is one of Queensland most environmentally sustainable schools.
During Terms 2 and 3 in 2010, the Year of Environmental Sustainability Principal Champion will travel throughout Queensland supporting YES and the Earth Smart Science initiative in Queensland state schools.
The YES Principal Champion will work with school principals on ways schools can minimise their ecological footprint and incorporate environmental education for sustainability into their curriculum.
As a key ambassador for YES, the Principal Champion will establish and facilitate networks of Principals (Champions of Environmental Sustainability) and partner organisations (local/community/government and commercial) as well as promoting the Year of Environmental Sustainability events and activities.
Michael will be in this role until 17 September 2010.
