Brisbane, 17 September 2010
Queensland school communities are invited to participate in the Seeds of Change Education Forum as part of the Earth Charter +10 Festival, a signature event in the Year of Environmental Sustainability.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Earth Charter, students and teachers from across Australia and the Pacific region will come together to share ideas and strategies around educating for a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.
The Seeds of Change Education Forum will acknowledge and support the work of teachers, students and school communities in raising awareness of the values of the Earth Charter.
Participation in the forum will enable teachers to embed the values of peace, justice and sustainability into curriculum, as well as linking teachers with educational networks across the Australia-Pacific region. Queensland teachers may be eligible for accreditation with the Queensland College of Teachers Continuing Professional Development Framework.
