Building strong Indigenous communities supported by learning and arts is a priority area for the Department of Education, Training and the Arts.

The Indigenous Learning and Arts Strategic Plan 2008-2011 (new window) 203k Adobe PDF document outlines the department's responsibilities and priority action areas - across training, education and the arts - for the next four years across the state.

Key focus areas in the plan include increasing learning and achievement at school; developing and supporting accessible and relevant training pathways; and promoting strong Indigenous arts and culture. The plan sets out strategies to ensure that the department is building strong Indigenous communities supported by learning and arts.

The plan has been developed in consultation with stakeholders in the education, training and arts sectors.
