Evaluation community of practice

Evaluation community of practice

The Community of Practice in evaluation is a network of mentors and critical friends that promotes the profile and quality of evaluation expertise and a collegial approach to evaluation. The network enhances the pattern of workplace relationships that engage in evaluation activity within the agency and the wider evaluation community.

Members of the Community of Practice include:

• departmental and other cross-government staff who have completed a DET evaluation training workshop
• departmental staff who have completed a Master Class
• evaluation champions
• professionals across government with strategic alignments in evaluation
• research and evaluation experts
• external evaluators and evaluation advisors.

The Community of Practice also enables an expansion of support services available to departmental staff.

Periodic newsletters in the form of Community of Practice Communique, bulletin board alerts, Vodcasts and published articles promote the department's evaluation activities throughout the community.
