Communicating results

The Accountable Officer is responsible for approving the communication strategy for the evaluation findings and any recommendations of the evaluation to stakeholders (see the evaluation approval process 20k).

The success of an evaluation can be measured by how useful the findings are in future decision making. Evaluation provides an organisation an opportunity to learn from and improve its performance.

Phase 7 Communicate findings

• Final evaluation report approved by the Evaluation Steering Committee (ESC)
• ESC brief the Policy and Performance Committee on the final evaluation report and any process approved by the Accountable Officer for release/publication of the report.
• The communication strategy needs to take account of the different needs and contexts surrounding internal and external communication. In some cases external publication may require formal approval using the corporate communication process.

• The Accountable Officer is responsible for the final release/publication of the evaluation report and for communicating the evaluation finding to stakeholders
  • Evaluation reports must also comply with the Right to Information and Information Privacy legislation
