Our liabilities

Peregian Springs and Bay View State School at Thornlands were the first schools in Australia to be awarded a 4-star Greenstar rating by the Green Building Council of Australia.

The department held liabilities totalling $1.242 billion at 30 June 2010, an increase of $284 million on 2008-09.

Lease assets and corresponding finance lease liabilities for the Southbank Education and Training Precinct and the Aspire South East Queensland Schools program are held by the department and form the majority of our financial liabilities.

Capital creditors from the delivery of the capital program, including Building the Education Revolution, also make up a large portion of the creditors at 30 June 2010.
