Proud, skilled and ready to lead
The Department of Education and Training is strongly committed to advancing the employment, education and skilling opportunities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The Proud, skilled and ready to lead program is an exciting opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teachers within the department to participate in professional development to enhance their leadership skills. This year another 25 teachers will have the opportunity to apply to be part of this unique 12 month professional development journey.
The program will be delivered over three x three day residentials. This intensive and reflective professional development program will be delivered by the department in collaboration with the Stronger Smarter Institute. Participating teachers will also benefit from the ongoing support of Diversity representatives and their self-appointed mentors.
Proud skilled and ready to lead information sessions will be held between Monday 9 July and Friday 31 August 2012. Exact dates and the locations of information sessions will depend on demand within regions. Teachers who cannot participate in a face-to-face session will be invited to join us via web conferencing. To register for an information session please email your details to Diversity.
Applications (DOC, 314KB) are now available for your perusal. However, NO applications will be accepted before 9 July 2012 and it is preferred that teachers attend an information session to fully understand their commitment and the expectations if selected to participate in Proud skilled and ready to lead prior to lodging an application.
Applications are to be submitted to Diversity by no later than Friday 21 September 2012. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 12 October.
