Under the Surat Basin Future Directions Statement headline initiative: Developing a skilled workforce, the Department of Education and Training is working in partnership with key stakeholders and organisations to identify possible future workforce needs and strategies to mitigate any impact from large industries expanding in the Surat Basin. These workforce needs and strategies will be included in a comprehensive and responsive Workforce Development Plan for the Surat Basin region.
A working group of representatives from government, industry and the community has been established to contribute to the Workforce Development Plan.
