Our local high school has been announced as a Year 7 pilot school. What happens now?

Our local high school has been announced as a Year 7 pilot school. What happens now?

To support your school's transition to Year 7 in high school, the department will work with the principal and a dedicated team from your school to ensure that plans are in place for the pilots before 2013.

In addition each pilot school will consult with all the parents of the primary students who will have the opportunity to attend Year 7 at a pilot school.

Will I be able to decide whether or not my child attends Year 7 at a pilot school?

All parents will have a number of options available to them so they can choose the best place for their child to attend Year 7.

If I'd like to know about the pilot program, where can I go for more information?

Prior to the pilots starting in 2013, all Year 7 pilot schools will hold information forums and community events to help parents make informed decisions about what is best for their children.
