The School to Work team is responsible for overseeing initiatives aimed at increasing Year 12 retention of Indigenous students and the successful transition of Indigenous Year 12 students from schooling to further education, training and/or meaningful employment.
The Team is responsible for administration of the Learn, Earn, Legend! Year 12 Destinations Initiative, including supporting and helping regional Indigenous Pathways Coordinators (IPCs) who have been engaged under the initiative to oversee the case management of participating students. Maintaining stakeholder involvement, data collection and reporting to funding sources are also major tasks associated with the initiative.
The P Plate program is also a responsibility of the School to Work Team. P Plate is an initiative operating in partnership with the Australian Employment Covenant (AEC) and aimed at connecting AEC employers with job ready Indigenous school leavers. It compliments the Learn, Earn, Legend! Year 12 Destinations initiative and the range of vocational programs operating in the school system.
