The department is committed to providing world class education and training and closing the gap in the educational outcomes of Indigenous and non-Indigenous students.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Action Plan outlines the actions that are being undertaken at the national, state and local level. This plan, along with the department's Closing the Gap education strategy, guide the department's work to improve the educational achievements of Indigenous students.
These overarching strategies are supported by project strategies, and are developed and implemented in consultation with schools and communities.
