In 2009, the Queensland Government formed a partnership with the Australian Government to introduce the Productivity Places Program (PPP) as part of the Australian Government's Skilling Australia for the Future policy.
This Program provides a funding contribution for eligible job seekers and existing workers to upgrade their skills in a number of priority areas, which include early childhood education and care.
For those seeking a career in early childhood education and care, eligible job seekers can receive training directly from select registered training organisations or via the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. For information on eligibility, a list of registered training organisations or available Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs please visit the Department's Training website
.
For existing early childhood workers, you might be able to commence a trainee or apprentice in children's services. Traineeships and apprenticeships are available in selected qualifications through the User Choice program
.
As early childhood education and care is a top skilling priority, the Queensland Government provides the full funding for a traineeship in Certificate III in Children's Services and an apprenticeship in the Diploma of Children's Services. This program is organised through employers and selected registered training organisations.
