Service providers

Offering a safe, fun and supportive environment for children to learn and grow, the thousands of services that make up the early childhood education and care sector in Queensland all play an integral role in supporting their communities.

Queensland services are currently experiencing an environment of reform and, together with the Department of Education, Training and Employment, the following key initiatives are currently being implemented:

Early years services - providing programs for early childhood development, excluding an approved kindergarten program.

Grant funding programs - funding to enhance the delivery of quality early childhood development programs including kindergarten is available.

National Quality Framework - a new integrated national approach to quality education and care.

Education and Care Services Act 2013 - supporting quality outcomes for children, especially those in rural and remote areas.

Universal access to early childhood education - ensuring every child can access a kindergarten program.
