Kindergarten design

The Department of Education and Training has developed a design template 787k for the extra kindergarten services to be established by 2014.

This design has been developed in close consultation with C&K, the government's preferred kindergarten provider on state school sites and has been designed to meet licensing criteria (MP 5.4 - Child care centres). This design exceeds minimum licensing criteria in a number of ways in order to provide a building that best supports the provision of a quality kindergarten program.

Please note that the design only addresses the internal elements of the kindergarten facilities. External elements, including the outdoor play area, will be developed on a site-by-site basis to ensure each facility best reflects the character and heritage values of the surrounding area.
