Early Childhood Education and Care Services Census

The Queensland Early Childhood Education and Care Services Census is an annual data collection from the early childhood education and care sector. The 2014 Census will commence on 28 July 2014 (excluding vacation care).

Census participants include all Queensland Government approved early childhood education and care services, including family day care and school aged care, as well as state and non-state schools that provide pre-preparatory (pre-Prep) programs in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Information collected is used for planning and program development, monitoring outcomes of early childhood initiatives and the implementation of the Education and Care Services National Law. Census data not only helps to inform government initiatives, but is also useful for communities and services in determining the characteristics of early childhood education and care provision in Queensland.

2014 Census supporting information - a range of supporting documents and information is available to assist services completing the Census. This includes instructions for using the new child data upload function.

Fact Sheets - Fact sheets provide overview snapshot of previous year's Census data collections.

Open Data - Data sets from the Census are also available on the Queensland Government Open Data website.
