Kindergarten Professional Development workshops

During July and August the Office for Early Childhood Education and Care ran five Professional Development Workshops for kindergarten teachers throughout Queensland entitled "Building systems for supporting positive behaviour in Kindergarten programs: supporting universal access to kindergarten", which was facilitated by Dr Laura Riffel.

Dr Laura Riffel is a behaviour specialist who has trained teachers, parents, counselors, psychologists and administrators on how to make evidence based decisions as a way to change behaviour. Laura is a well regarded educator with 30 years experience across a range of early years, primary, middle and high school settings. She travels throughout the United States presenting on functional behaviour assessment and writing effective behavioural plans for the United States Bureau of Educational Research and also as a private consultant.
