Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)

ACECQA is an independent statutory authority, providing national leadership in promoting quality and continuous improvement in early childhood education and care and school age care in Australia. ACECQA is working with State and Territory Governments and the early childhood sector to implement changes to education and care that will benefit young children and their families.

Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations

The Office of Early Childhood Education and Childcare in the Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations External Link (DEEWR) is responsible for delivering the Australian Government's key commitments on early childhood education and care and guiding major policy reforms at a national level including the national quality reforms.

National Law

The Education and Care Services National Law Bill External Link is available on the Victorian Government's legislation website, under Parliamentary Documents External Link. The national legislation is the first major milestone in implementing the NQF.

Council of Australian Governments

The Council of Australian Governments External Link (COAG) is the peak intergovernmental forum in Australia consisting of the Prime Minister and all state and territory Premiers or First Ministers. The role of COAG is to initiate, develop and monitor the implementation of policy reforms that are of national significance and which require cooperative action by Australian governments. Through COAG, every state and territory government and the Commonwealth have committed to making early childhood an area for national reform.
