Enrolling your child

Children can participate in a kindergarten program in the year before they start Prep. This means children will be at least four years old by 30 June that year (see table below).

Service providers take enrolments for their kindergarten programs all year and, while some can place children at any time, others may have a waiting list.

Parents can place their child's name on a waiting list before they are old enough to attend. Depending on the service, parents may have to enrol their child at least six months before the start of the kindy year.

Parents should contact the service about its enrolment policies and procedures.
