From 1 January 2012, the National Quality Framework (NQF) will introduce new standards for long day care, family day care, outside school hours care and kindergarten services.

This includes a new quality assessment and rating system and new educator-to-child ratios and enhanced educator qualifications.

Changes will be implemented gradually so that services and families have time to adjust.
