

outside school hours care services (also known as school age care services) provide care to school age children before and/or after school (during school terms) and may offer vacation care.
Outside school hours care services are centre based services, and are required to be licensed under the Child Care Act 2002 (the Act). A service must meet the legislative requirements under the Act, including:
The Queensland Government funds eligible school age care services to engage staff for additional hours per week. The funding enables co-ordinators to undertake tasks such as program preparation, training, networking, school and parent liaison and other administration duties.
