Compliance

The Queensland Government is committed to ensuring families and parents can access open and transparent information about early childhood education and care services in Queensland.

On 1 February 2010, the compliance publication scheme was introduced. The scheme allows for the publication of information about services that contravene the Child Care Act 2002 (the Act) on the department's website.

From 1 July 2010, changes to the Act require licensees to keep and maintain at the service a compliance history log book (log book). This allows families and parents to access compliance information about a service that contravenes the Act.

From 1 January 2012, Queensland services included under the National Quality Framework can continue to maintain their log books, or comparable record, to meet the requirements of regulation 177(1)(m) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
