The Queensland Government has taken action to ensure families can access open and transparent information about early childhood education and care services in Queensland.
The department will publish on this website certain non-compliance information about early childhood education and care services that have contravened the Child Care Act 2002.
The publishing of information applies to licensed centre-based child care services regulated or licenced under the Child Care Act 2002.
The department will publish on this webpage certain information about services that demonstrate serious or repeated non-compliance that is more than minor in nature. The published information will apply to the following:
A licensee or person may apply to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal
(QCAT) to review a decision to issue a serious sanction or more than minor compliance notice.
Other important information to note:
Parents can be assured that the majority of Queensland services provide safe, quality care and education for children and comply with the legislation.
The introduction of the compliance publication scheme assists families to make informed decisions regarding services that provide or potentially will provide early childhood education and care for their child. It also encourages greater accountability and continuous improvement within the early childhood education and care sector.
The compliance of services approved under the National Quality Framework is monitored as part of a national information scheme. Information about service compliance will be open and transparent for families once the framework is fully operational and services start to receive public ratings of the seven quality areas of the National Quality Standard.
