Choosing the right program provider for your child

It is important when choosing a kindergarten program provider that you consider your child's needs and your family's circumstances.

Before deciding you should check whether:

• the service's operating hours, days and kindergarten program times suit your family
• places are available for new enrolments
• the fees suit your budget
• there are any costs over and above the fees
• there is a fee to be placed on the waiting list
• the service offers before and/or after kindergarten care
• children with additional needs are supported to participate in the kindergarten program.

Once you think you have found a program provider that meets your needs, you should visit the service to meet the teacher/s, see the grounds and facilities and experience the atmosphere. You can ask any questions you may have and share information about your child.

Having detailed knowledge about the kindergarten program and the setting in which it is provided will help you choose the right service for your child and family.
