Starting school for the first time is an important event in the lives of children and their families.
The Wondering about school resources provide schools with an opportunity to connect with families and neighbouring early childhood education and care services, to support children with their transition to school.
The resources also give Prep- and kindergarten-aged children opportunities to connect with each other, share their experiences, and build a sense of belonging in their community to make a positive start to school.
The Wondering about school: Children's investigations booklet 6.8M encourages current Prep students to represent and communicate their thoughts, feelings and experiences of when they started school, to support kindergarten-aged children with their transition.
Start creating your new Wondering about school booklet - download the booklet, work with Prep students and their families to share supportive messages about starting school, and distribute the booklet to the new children and families who are entering Prep.
