Quality governance processes are essential for agencies to operate effectively. Good governance is about performance, how an agency uses governance arrangements to contribute to its overall performance and the delivery of goods, services and programs. Good governance also encompasses conformance, how organisations use governance arrangements to ensure they meet the requirements of the law, regulations, published standards and community expectations of probity, accountability and openness.
The Corporate Governance Framework outlines the principles, elements and mechanisms used in the Department of Education and Training to support effective corporate governance through strong leadership, responsible and ethical decision making, management and accountability and performance management.
