Summary of the delegations for all expenditure incurred by the Department, whether recurrent or capital in nature including:

  • approve expenditure for the supply of goods or services for official purposes
  • write-off losses in accordance with the relevant legislation
  • make special (ex gratia) payments in accordance with the relevant legislation
  • create or increase petty cash or imprest accounts
  • approve the establishment and use of credit cards and vouchers
  • authorise the purchase and giving of gifts
  • sell and dispose of assets
  • enter into contracts with external parties which generate revenue for the Department
  • approve expenditure on capital works.
