DET apps

The department has created a range of free apps for use and download by the community. We will continue to develop interesting and relevant apps for a range of audiences and devices.

QSchools app

Interact with your favourite Queensland state schools through the QSchools app and receive up-to-the-minute updates. The app integrates with the department's preferred school website platform to allow users to see when news, events and newsletters are posted to their favourite school website. Users can also see other useful information provided by the school such as tuckshop menus, uniform shop information, class times and social media feeds.

The app will enable the school community to receive real-time notifications about state-wide emergency alerts as well as school push notifications through the app.

Queensland schools app

Access information about Queensland state schools, independent and Catholic schools. Locate your nearest school and their contact details, website addresses and other related information. Filter results based on your selection and save your favourite locations.

SPEAK (Speaking Promotes Education And Knowledge) provides lots of fun, free activities, ideas and information for parents, carers and educators to support and nurture language development in children from 0-6 years of age.

Out and About app

Give your child a flying start in literacy by helping them practise their sight words when they are 'out and about'. This app is aimed at Prep to Grade 2 students to help them master the first 100 sight words.

Take a Stand External Link

Read up on tips and advice about bullying.

The Allen Adventure iPad app External Link

This story is about Allen, a young visitor from another planet, who is new to school and learning how to get on with his Earthling classmates. It is suitable for children from 3 to 8 years of age. The Allen Adventure explores social and emotional skills that children need to make friends, to get on with others and to deal with unpleasant or difficult behaviour from other children.
